Is this 'Issue' an Issue

Did you see the front cover of Vanity Fair's March 2010 issue? Well, it has caused controversy for some folks. Mainly because of the obvious: there are no people of color anywhere at all on the front page of their famous New Hollywood edition. Critics from one side say that Vanity Fair has done nothing wrong; the featured starlets deserve to be there. Other folks deem the cover as racist stating Vanity Fair could have found at least one black, Latino, Asian, Cuban, or Spanish person who is deserving of such attention, right? I certainly agree with this view point. However, I wouldn't go as far as saying the cover is racist.
As a subscriber to Essence and Ebony magazines, which cater to women of color, I whole heartily believe that their 'Hollywood' issue (or something similar) would not have included any Caucasians.
Period. To me, this is not racist, it's business. Ebony and Essence markets to black women so quite naturally, black people will appear on the front cover. This does not mean people of other races are not deserving to be there. Just my thoughts. What do you think?

Some folks would call it racist just for the sheer heck of calling it racist. People love to vent their views on websites, be it good or bad (as I am now venting my personal views here).

Some people (I am brown-skinned, being a mix of several different Asian people groups) will think it's an outrage and make a huge fuss and get horribly worked up.

Well here's a tip: if you absolutely hate an article etc DON'T REPLY to it or post to it as it adds fuel to the fire. The article stays around even longer and travels further coz you'v now added your two cents!

As the saying goes "Didn't your mother tell you that if you've got nothing nice to say to somebody, don't say it."
